Just got the 2009 car back from the dealer today after it was there for a week. If you bring the motor up to 1300-1500 RPMS theere is a rattling sound from the timing belt cover area. They replaced the tensioners with no avail. They had an Outlander their with the same motor and we brought it up to 1400 RPMs and it made the same sound. So the guys their are saying maybe its normal for the 2.4 motor. That is BS to me. I have read about sticking lifters, etc on these MIVEC motors. Anyone with any advice. This car has 6000kms and has rattled from day 1. Very frustrated. Embarassing in the morning as this is the idle speed that the car warms up at and god knows what will happen down the line. Maybe I'll call Mitsubishi as I am now at the mercy of the importer (waiting for their response). HELP. Thanks, Graham

I have read alot about this online but so much contradicts other info. Any other owners have this?? Or if you could be kind enough would some other owners bring their motor up to around 1300 rpms and tell me if they hear this as the dealer is saying they cant find the problem (they hear it but says it might be normal) and all of mt neighbors are looking at me when I start the car wondering what is wrong with it lol. (this is driving me nuts) Thank you everyone, Graham
