I'm a 16 year old living in PA i get my licence December 23 and my eclipse is having problems. needs a new tranny, interior is shot, blown head gasket.. It's time to move on. Its only a 98 N/A and its not worth the problems..

I know this isn't about eclipses but you guys are the only people i know that'll put me in the right direction. there are zero decent Mitsubishi's in my area with my price range. I just need a decent car that i can have some fun with and if treated right will last me until I get money saved up so i can trade it in and get an eclipse when the right one comes up.

And again i know this shouldn't be here but I know you guys know your stuff.. A completely stock 80's Nissan 300zx non turbo 5-speed manual with 180,000 miles for 3,000 minus how much they'd give me for my eclipse. this sound good?

Also I cannot find a decent Nissan forum to find out more stuff so suggestions would be appreciated, thanks guys.

3 grand sounds way too high for a 20 year old nissan, unless it is in mint condition.

Go to Edmunds.com and price one there. It will give you a round-about price to work from. Depending on your location, 80's Nissan's had issues with body rust. Not good on a uni-body vehicle.

The N/A 1g Zs are dogs! Unless you plan on making it TT, then I don't recomend getting one! Also, the 1g's are rather ugly.

Why does everyone pick on the 1g's looks just because it came first doesn't mean it was perfect ... we got the 6 bolt and the 2g got the looks ... come on now lmao

And to stay on topic ... I wouldn't do the 300 at all ... from my experience they aren't the best cars ... What exactly is your price range is something to help ...

PA .... hmmm I've seen that state alot of neons.org ... I know you thinking ... ewww neons ... but you can get a pretty good one for like 1500-3000 maybe even a turboed one for 2000-5000 ... just something to think about ....

3 grand for a car that's got rust and 180k on the clock? I would say if you don't have more than 3 grand to spend then you also don't have the money to put into repairs either. Find something will alot less miles and more reliability. My buddy recently sold his focus zx3 with zero rust and 48k miles for $2500. Something like that would be perfect for you especially considering at 16 anything that's even slightly sporty will cost you a fortune on insurance.

S13's are bad ass cars, especially with that SR20 engine! Id just make sure its tuned and reliable. There is alot to maintain on a car that modified, know what your getting into. You've been warned.

Yall keep putting down the neons but for under 10g you can have a 9 second car but whatever ... i know my friend had a basically stock neon(95 5 speed sohc) and raped just about any 4 cyl na/most v6s ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) but do what you do buy what you can ... I was just making a suggestion

But Az3g is right about the 240s ... and the sr20 motor very reliable if tuned right i got a friend that has 2 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) pretty fun to slide around
