just to throw my 2 cents in....

if u r upgrading from 1 piston caliper to 2 piston i would also think u would have too upgrade the master cylinder also?

does it push the same amount of fluid/pressure ?
has anybody checked?

and i wouldnt buy used brake parts from ebay or other wise... most states its illegal..

u can probably get reman from napa just has cheap...
or an outfit called ohio caliper sells really good kits as well

do i have to upgrade the master cyl too ? i thought the go to the 2 piston caliper it will have more contact area on the back pad, that means it will have more area to grip the rotor better instead of just 1 small piston in the middle, that will make it stop quicker, and if the system is full, after i bleed the caliper, the pressure is now control with my foot right ?

up here in MA, it is not illegal to buy used brake part, but Emission part like Exhaust and stuff is a NO, NO, but i get your point, sometimes the used ebay parts is not the best quality, and most of them say "buy as is" means no warranty, return or exchange, i can check with NAPA
(Never Any Part Available) lol for pricing, i have good discount with them anyway
Thanx man

your .02 is worth .01

there is nothing illegal with use brake parts and to no you do not have to change the master cylinder because there is no upgrade for it.

Nice! What rotors and pads did you go with? Have the calipers powdercoated man! JNZ Finishing does an awsome job for affordable price, as does tirado custom coatings (TCC). Send them an email to check prices!

I really need to do this... If I can get my freakin' tail lights to sell, this might be my next endeavor!

I mean like which exact pads and rotors did you go with?

And quick question:
Are the 3kgt SL (FWD) calipers 2-piston?

Well, I have a FWD eclipse, so I have to find calipers off of a FWD car, and correct me if I am wrong, but the calipers on the FWD galant (non-4g63) will not work with the eclipse, right?

I think I will go with the 3kgt SL calipers as they will have less miles for one, and two they will be easier to find.

i have never seen the calipers off from the 1.8 cars so i don't know if its going to work or not.

the 2 piston calipers are use in 3000gt (base and sl), Galant and diamante. will work in the eclipse single piston.

the only thing that you have to watch out for is the type of brake lines are used. there is the screw in type and the ball and joint type. other then that; is the only difference

no its 4 pistons they will not fit under the eclipse stock mounting points. you will have to get a bracket and bigger rims to make them fit

watch for the off set for the wheels too, the TT calipers are much bigger, i can't use my 18" wheels on my non turbo Stealth to fit in a Turbo Stealth either, and that's with the shim on it too.

On an eclipse, to use the VR4 (TT) calipers, you have to have a custom bracket made (unless you cna find a retailer that sells them. I haven't been so lucky), Rotors made for the VR4, pads made for the VR4 and AT LEAST 17" wheels. On the FWD (N/A) 3s, this info may be differnet, but this is what is required for an eclipse.

As for the 1.8. I know for a fact that the 3000GT SL 2-piston calipers work, so I assume the galant and diamante's will work also.
