I've been fixing up my Montero and put a full sound system in there: component speakers up front, coaxials in the rear, 4channel amp to power the speakers, 12" subwoofer and another amp to power it, double din stereo with screen/dvd etc. Basically no more stock crap in play.

If you do a search you will see my many post regarding audio in the Montero, there seemed to be none til I got in, so hopefully those and this post will help other owners who want to make their ride even better.

After a recent long drive with passengers, I've been contemplating if I should put headrest LCDs. Well I just jumped in and got it.

First lets show you the pictures..

Wait is this the wrong picture? Nope its not.. These are stealth approved so when not in use like they are not there..

They are not real leather, but synthetic. Flows well with the vehicle, not as shiny as our seats, but unless you look hard or take a picture with flash as you see in the last picture, it is hardly noticible.

Each headrest has its own DVD player with Sony laser. So I have the dvd player up front and the video output from there to the input of the LCD headrests. However, if the people in the back want to watch their own movie, they can do so. There are also built in speakers. Also IR headphones are included, so people can listen to the DVD they are playing while the people up front watch their own. If your main deck has a separate audio output for rear section (meaning you can separate what the front and rear listen to) the LCD headrest also has audio input which will also transmit to the included IR headphones.

There is a USB slot, and SD card slot for those type of media. It plays mp3s, dvix, etc.

The poles adjust, and adjust fine to our vehicles.

The only problem is the tabs do not stick to whre you raise the headrest up. It will just slide back down. It's not a problem as the headrest are tall enough at its lowest position to support most heads.

The screen is 7" widescreen.

It also includes games! There is a disc of 1000 games, from classics like Mario, etc. Most nintendo games, and a few generic 32bit games. It comes with 2 wireless game controllers and 2 hybrid remote/game controllers (the remote controller turns sideways and acts as a game controller)

As for the install, I did everything myself and I'm use to installing these things so it was fairly straight forward. I ran the wires down the seats, you wont see any wires running.

I'll add more on the review.

Looks a great installation.
Out of interest, what double din 7" unit have you installed. Have you put a rear view camera on it and if so where did you mount camera ?.
