Hello!

I have a 97 GSX which misses under heavy acceleration not heavy missing, but noticeable "lerching" when getting on it.

It's done this in the past and I had to reduce the gap from my spark plugs and it was fine after that.

The compression was fine with a difference of 4psi on cyl. #1 but that's about it.

Also, I had to remove some of my FMIC piping to change my starter and I'll have to check for small leaks in a bit.

SO i've covered:

Compression-within tolerable limits
spark-will re-adjust
air-need to check for boost leaks

I'm just trying to brainstorm.

Anyone have any-other "possible spots" to include?

i had some real bad missing on cylinder one b/c the coil pack had busted where the wire enters it and it actually melted the wire in half. so id inspect the coil pack in case you have not already, b/c i actually over looked that at first and replaced the plugs, then the wires, and that's when i noticed the problem lol

It was the spark plugs!!

They wondered a little wide over time ( I gapped them at .28 or so and they were larger than .30 when I checked this weekend!!)

So I gapped them down to .26-.27 or so and BOOM! Problem fixed~! Glad it wasn't a larger issue! Now there's smooth acceleration all the way up to redline!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Kudos on the input guys!! Thank you.
