My cooling fan does not come on at all even when it reaches a certain tempature. My car overheats on idle because of that. I have to turn on my ac to get the OTHER fan on to make the car stop overheating. I checked the fuse its not the fuse. The connections look okay to me. what could be the problem? My guess is the coolant temp sensor?? Can i just bypass the connection? help me out guys.

The connection might look ok but you need to check to see if you have power. Get a multimeter and check it. You should have 12v. It sounds electrical you will have to check for power.

you can also hot wire the fan to see if it's functioning, run 12v wire through an inline fuse with something sharp, find the fan connector poke the lighter color wire first, normally is the hot wire, see which one turns it on, if you hit the ground wire, it will just take out the inline fuse, so pop another one an try it again, one of the wire should turns the fan on. if not then the fan might be N/G, if you find one that turns the fan on, you can use a switch then bypass it manually

Dont go poking your wires that is just asking for a problem farther down the road. Just disconnect the connector and do it that way. It wont matter which wire pin you hit with it that way. the only thing that will happen is the fan will spin backwards if it turns on. Be careful not to get caught in the fan when testing if it does turn on.

I agree with the above. Many drag racers purposely wire a switch inside the car to do this so that they can run the fan while in the staging lanes to cool the engine down between runs. This was a must on my srt4.
