The only way this will ever work is if we raise taxes, and Americans will never want to pay more taxes.
Even then, raising taxes won't help any, because people find every way possible to avoid paying them. My parents try to eek every single penny they can out of their tax forms.
If we sat at a flat tax of 20%... or even just 15%, no exceptions, no exemptions, then we would be set for any kind of social programs in the future. Multi-billion dollar industry, 20%. Guy working for wal-mart barely making 5 figures, 20%. Guy at a desk with a 6 figure job, 20%.
Yeah i agree.. Id gladly pay more taxes for a good health care system. Its a basic need, i can think of anything worst.. if anything happens to me or a dear one and theres nothing we can do about it.. I suffer enough and i am insured. My copays are ridiculus and my dental plan only covers up to a certain amount. I mean, 20% of 10,000 is a lot of money.
but you know something, doctors should not earn as much as they do here, hospitals should not charge 200 dollars for doing a urine test. Maybe then insurance companies will not have to pay 10,000 for a tiny shit operation, and they can start charging less poor people who cant afford a 150 dollar premium. ANd there should be a law about having them COVER the preexisting conditions. I feel bad for people who have diabetes and many other diseases and cant get insurance.
