I just moved to Phoenix from SanDiego three months ago. As far as go fasters its always the same drill. Intake, exhaust, good NGK spark plugs/ thicker wires. I always recomend synthetic oil for the life of the engine. But not if its never had it before and the miles are over 100k... Its kind of too late.

You can waste lots of money on bolt-ons but N/A is slow. If you wanna go fast you have two options: engine swap or buy a turbo car. The good news about your n/a is that it will get better mpg and theoretically be more reliable.

Theres always some basic shit you can do.

New spark plugs are a cheap start. Gap them properly.
Air intake is always a cheap and first purchase. Simply because it takes no skill what so ever to install it.
Short shifter and replace your old bushings. Give you firmer quicker shifts.
New exhaust would be the next step.

Kinda something thats good to do. Cheap engine rebuild. Just getting the values and simple stuff replaced.

Those are the must.

I know almost everyone is aganist it but, if you dont plan on keeping the car that long and want some instant power, NOS.

On a N/A car your not going to pick up hp from a CAI or SRI. Its like one or two it just looks good really. A header back exhaust would help you out some. A throttle Body Spacer has been proven to give you some hp and its kinda cheap. If you want to spend some money boost it thats guaranteed power. Gettin new valves and stuff for the head would be expensive though.
