Drivers Side Headlight And Tail Light, not working

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 14 Joined: 4-August 09 Member No.: 75,933 Status: Location: Kingston, Ontairo Drives: 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander	2005 outlander. It has a trailer hitch (not sure if this is important). Both the front headlight and tail light are out. I replaced both last night. Still no lights. Suggestions? Thanks

Senior Group: Members Posts: 279 Joined: 18-October 04 Member No.: 2,173 Status: Location: Moncton, New-Brunswick Drives: Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 2004, 1984 Corvette, 1992 Suzuki Carry	These two lamps have seperate circuits. Might be coincidence but it looks like you blew 2 fuses. Does your headlight come on with daytime driving lights because that is also a seperate circuit. If daytime runing light works then you blew 10A low beam fuse( diagram pdf 90-56). Lisence plate light and rear side markers are also connected to left tail light so if these work you either have a bad socket or broken wire. If they don't work then Tail lamp fuse is a 7.5 amp fuse( diagram pdf 90-62). The idiots who installed my trailer hitch put their own ground in. It came loose. It was about oh...3 inches from the main rear ground. I moved it, tail lights worked. Headlight. I stuck the voltmeter in. 12 volts. Bad new bulb. Replaced bulb again. All is well.

We can fix a lot of things but we all know we just can't fix stupid (mechanics)! Have a nice day
