Hi
Could anyone tell me the best way to change all the oil in the auto box. I have drained the oil using the drain on the gearbox but only get 2 litres out. The manual says it should be over 6 litres. Whats the best way to get the rest out without doing any damage. Thanks

The gearbox contains only 2.1 li of gear oil. It's the engine that contains about a gallon of motor oil. HTH

the way to change auto box fluid is to remove a pipe from the oil cooler and pump
ot as much as you can you then top up to the correct level and then start up and pump out again doing this 3 times which changes all the oil

The workshop manual states that you should get the transmission oil upto temperature, then move slowly between all selector position to fill the torque convertor and clutches. This should allow you to get more out. I will double check, but I believe it then states something about running the engine for a maximum of 30 seconds to pump out more. I would wait unti lI have double checked this though. One thing also recommended by the manual is that you flush the oil cooler lines when changing the oil. By removing the pipe and draining it through, you are probably carrying out a slight flush too.

Colin.
