The lights on my gauge cluster have went out. I noticed them flickering on and off, and then bam they went out for good. With it getting dark by 5pm now, I really need these lights to see at night ya know. I have a 95 Galant LS. Could anyone please tell me where I might want to start in getting this problem fixed? thanks :)

Update!!

I know it isnt the bulb, because if I tap my breaks they come on, and if I let off the breaks they go out. So its got to be a connection somewhere. If anyone could give me some tips on where to start I would apprecite it!

Im sorry if i posted this in the wrong category btw. I realize this probably should have went somewhere else if a mod wouldnt mind moving it for me :)

maybe u should try taking out the clusster and look at the connections. it sounds like it would be a pain in the butt but its really easy and u might find our answer.

I am gonna pick up a manuel if I can find one and start tracing any wires by my brake pads under the dash, maybe something is pinching.

Since this has started happening, my car wont hold a charge now, something is draining it. I am taking it to a guy who can look at the alternator for me and see if thats killing the battery. If not, this issue may have something to do with this light situation. Could be something more complicated and electrical, maybe this was the first indication of that. So gonna start tracing wires see what happens and test the alternator. After that i know it could be big bucks if looking at to find the electrical issue.
