yea the whole oil tranny problem is fixed i put tranny fluid into the tranny(thinking it was oil) DOH! and drained the 8QTS of oil out of it....i hope i didnt do any damage to the engine? what happens from having to much oil, tranny seems to work fine now....it was driven 20 or so miles like this :wacko: :crying: please tell me my beloved car is ok

uhh usually the car the car burns off what it not needed but thats usually only like a qt that it can do that with i don't remember how much oil 3000gts take off hand but if its running fine there should be no problem, you can blow stuff from to much oil pressure but like i said if it feels ok now then notheing should hve happened

wholly ba-jeasus bat man.

8 qrts of tranny fluid in the engine! wow.

If the oil level is to high the rods and crank will slap the oil, froth it, and get air in the oil which isn't good for lubrication. depending on the viscosity, how long you ran it, and lubrication that the tansmission fluid offered there may be damage.

But if it runs fine right now, I'd just run around in it for a while and see how it goes. You may very well be ok.

I know of people who run automatic transmission fluid through the engine right before an oil change to clean out the oil passages.

So if it runs fine I wouldn't loose any sleep until it started acting up.
