Well Ihave a 1998 Sport Gear X3 and apart from the little noise i heard in the back which was an allignment problem it's a very nice vehicle. My wife did not like it at first but afer a few power drifts and going through some heavy floods i can't ger her out of it.
I did some modification anyways, like front mount intercooler a Evo 6.5 turbo ralliart suspensions, 17' OZ wheels brembo breaking system, the next thing I mya change the ECU. But in all i have nor regrets.

Sounds good.

I have just posted elsewhere that I am thinking of changing to an X3 from an X2 1.8 gdi.

As I can see you are happy with yours [aside from completely upgrading it!! ;) ], I was just wondering; can you give an estimate of the worst mileage and the best mileage it has performed [fuel consumption]? And have you bothered to remove the Japanese 118k/h limit?

Joe

I got the same RVR a 1998 Sportsgear X3 with Intercooler turbo..terrible on mileage. Iget about 8-10 miles per gallon. and some engine noise. It actually sounds like a diesel at times... But LOTS and LOTs of Power..i'd race it anyday.

I get about 28-30 from my 1.8 GDI running round, and 35 mpg at motorway speeds [80ish] all day touring.

It is pretty economical for the size of it, but I am going to sell it soon. I have bought a Subaru SVX in England, and I will run that as an everyday car when I bring it home in July.
