everyone makes mistakes, but it sounds to me that he had no idea what he was even TRYING to do for you. I think he milked it so he can ATLEAST fix your console. court costs wouldn't be feasible and don't mention that to him unless he gives you a hard time. sometimes people that feel threatened will strike back.

make sure if you do have to take him to court that you have all the evidence you need. receipts with his comments on and **** like that. be as thorough as possible
