hello, i have a 1999/v space star which keeps cutting out at low revs,fine when on a run and worse when engine warm, been seen by a mechanic who can find no problem, can anybody help???

Hi there,

Exactly the same symptoms as my Spacestar, also a 1.8 V reg!! The dealer said I needed a new ECU at £700, which I declined! Have you found the problem with yours yet, if so please let me know.

maybe a slly thng but i had a space wagon started fine no previous problems with running went on a long run 75 miles when i pulled up at a toll booth it cut out and continued to do this each time i slowed to a stop or at a roundabout it would run ok at speed with no misfiring only cut out at tickover
anyway i thought the worst but for once i started with the simple things first
i changed the spark plugs they didnt look bad at at all but with new ones fitted it cured the problem completely
so give the old sparkys a try first cost under £10

first of all hi this is my first post
and its not a plea for help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laughing.gif)
i got my 99 gdi three days ago it was cutting out
i removed the airflow meter and cleaned all the coke off it
then put it in a sonic cleaner i got from maplins (for cleaning jewellery )
job done its great no problems
