one good thing to do when asking this type of question is to state what mods both cars have. you stated the other cars mods but didn't state the mods that you have. since you didn't post anything, i am going to say that you are stock. you will loose.

Thank you. This paragraph might even warrant a sticky at the top of this section...?

Now. Did he really say he wouldn't spray? Like it's a joke, or he seriously won't use the nitrous that he has -hooked up- in his car. Cause if he went far enough to put nitrous in his car, chances are he's gone as far as he can with other simple bolt ons. in that cause, he will school a stock na eclipse. even a mildly modded one. also, has he done anything to the auto tranny, like a shift kit? cause chevy auto tannys, upgrades, and drag racing go together like peanut butter, jelly, and bread. Also, what does his "chip" do. most "chips" are that stupid resistor bought of ebay that doesn't work. more detail is needed on this mod. just stating a chip doesn't tell us if/how it alters air/fuel ratios, timing, shift spots (doubtful if it's an ECU chip, but could be a TCM upgrade) or other things to make the car perform past factory specs.

But, if it's only for bragging rights, or the loser has to buy the pizza, go for it. It could be fun. If he beats your rear end to a pulp, see what he's got done, learn from him. It might even start a bit of a rivalry between friends, and you guys can have a good time with it. then next time, maybe he'll buy the pizza. and race at the track... or something like that...

Check my garage I have the mods listed there haha. I live in WI so its hard keeping bottle pressure up when it gets this cold out.

and as far as that cavalier it is stock except that chip that just raises the shift rpm.

members shouldn't have to go to your garage to see what mods you have just to answer your question. you should list them.

also, paper racing gets you no where. go and race to see who wins.

i was thinking about putting a disclaimer at the top of the forum to stop the posting of this type. this should be a forum of race results not "will I beat X, with these hekka mods on my car", or, "how would these cars do against each other?", forum.

I think it's funny...it raises the shift rpm? An autotranny Cavalier, eh? I wouldn't be surprised if he has a TON of stuff he's just not telling you.

Well, if you build a good paper airplane...
True, because if your car is not properly tuned and his is, you could be in some serious cowpie!

Ok update: I ended up racing him the other night , and won. The chip or whatever is all he actually had, beside underglow neons. I'd say we went about half a mile and I ended up getting 2 or 3 cars ahead of him by the end. oh by the way it was my g/f's ex, so i'm glad I beat him.

I also just bought another car since I have the eclipse paid off. 95 saab 900 SE turbo convertible, 5spd. im looking forward to racing someone in the thing, the guy i bought it from has it turned up to 18psi and is running a turboxs bov with intake and etc.

The Saabs are nice cars, I just wish GM would leave them alone and stop trying to integrate them into their heirarchy. Look what they did to Cadillac...the cars are almost worthless once they are driven off the lot!

everyone keeps telling me the parts will be expensive for the car, but since GM took over shouldnt they be a little cheaper now? clutch kits and labor for having a new one put in is also really cheap since its not hydrolic

Depends, newer Saabs are GM infested, but older ones weren't, so you'd still be buying Saab-made parts. Ha, GM, cheap, aren't they synonyms?
