Hey guys I have just purchased a 1997 RVR Hyper Sports Gear In Australia. I'm finding it very difficult to find anyone who has any suspention knowlege about these cars, I would like to get my hands on some lowering springs that would see the car take a 3" approx drop form current stock height. Does anyone know where in the world i can get decent lowered suspention for the RVR without having to go to the lengths of coilovers which completly spoil the ride of the car.

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
James

James contact Hotbits, if I remember correctly they carry lowering springs for the RVR. BTW lowering it 3" will be bad for the axles especially if it is an awd.

jas3113, I've bought the same model (I assume you have the turbo version) and it's now being complied.

I'd be interested to hear of any experiences you've had with yours and anything I might want to look out for.

The only mods I'm considering are possibly aftermarket wheels and an exhaust, so I'm keen to hear about what fits, what works and what doesn't.

Anyway, happy driving.

Sven.

Hi James,

Just registered as a Newbie myself in the hope of getting some help for my Super Sports Gear ...and lo and behold instead I can help you with some info, I hope! ( ...well they keep on telling me it's better to give than receive....especially if you in jail at the time!!)

There's an outfit I've been in touch with in Oz at http://www.xspeed.com.au

The guy who's replied to my mails is Hanson Yeoh. Apparently they do RSR lowering springs which lower the vehicle by about 55mm on the front and about 45mm on the rear. These are the same part for all variants of N23W RVRs.

They also do uprated shocks by KYB specifically for the HSG. They are Perth based I think.

email: hanson@xspeed.com.au

Hope that helps..... greg.

Hi Guys,

I recently bought a 95 RVR Super Sports Gear here in sunny Tamworth. Having some problems getting parts (wheel bearings).

Apart from that - we really do need an RVR club for Australia. One where we can pool experiences, parts etc.

I've used the forums on these sites:

http://www.clubvr4.org/public/
http://www.gsr-evo-club.net/index.php
http://forums.nzmmc.co.nz/index.php?sid=82...ed59b9dad2acd43

All very good but not specificly RVR.

Any suggestions?

Wayne Morgan

I really hope with a 3" drop you get new struts...those for SURE would blow out with that kind of a drop.

I have found a place that will give it a 3" drop with custom springs and shortened and modified shocks, re-gased and shortened bump stops. They do race car suspensions and are willing to my car for a fairly reasonable price, bout the $1000 mark. My mate had his done, it ride really well and doesnt sacrifice any comfort from standard its perfect for the lack of a better word.
