Anyone can share experiences using any brand of engine oil lubricant for Grandis Mivec 2.4L 2005 for tropical weather ?
Do I have to use mineral oil or syntetics ?

Only use a synthetic. Minerals aren't really good enough for it. You could get away with a semi-synthetic oil. It depends on what has been used so far, as the oils affect rubbers and plastic components in different ways.

I go for a 5w-30 or 5w-40 synthetic oil that is at least API-SJ compliant. I paid £20 for 5l of synthetic oil. Mobil 1 would be nice, but is too expensive.

Hi,

I use Shell Helix 20w-50 for my ride. so far don't create trouble.
Did try using synthetic oil and gave a rattling sound when starts-up.

Decided to use normal oil and so far so good.

Cheers.
