Hello all.

I just moved from Pennsylvania to Texas, and here we must have a license plate in the back AND front. They almost passed a bill that would have reduced the license plates to only having one in the back, but, alas, they changed that section at the last minute.

I need to buy one, but as you know, Mitsubishi Eclipse (2002) frames aren't as simple as some cars are when it comes to getting a front license plate mount.

Any advice you could lend me would be much appreciated. I want to get one soon so that I don't get pulled over. Should I try to buy one online and put it on myself? Should I just go to a shop and have them do it? Should I just drill holes into the frame and put the plate on myself?

Please help me!!!!!

Hey I have the same problem... I bought the car from my uncle in AZ where the tints and license plate are both legal, and came back up to MN where I got pulled over the other day for both my tints being too dark, and not having my front license plate mounted... luckily I got off with a warning but I'm still looking for a bracket... the dealership here in town wants $60 for the part plus installation... so I'm thinking at that price I'll just take a ticket...

My recomendation, which I'm not claiming to be the best, is to just go to an O'Reilly auto parts, or something to that effect, they should have one or be able to order it. I have the same prob, and I haven't replaced mine yet, I bumped someone in front of me at a light and broke mine =P

You can either get a universal bracket for $10, or you can buy the OEM part from the dealer. Either pay the price and obey the law, or pay the price when you are cited with a ticket.

Fact is, a ticket will be the same cost as the OEM part. So - do you REALLY think its smarter to pay $60 for the ticket and THEN buy the bracket for $60 for a total of $120 - or better to just suck it up and pay only $60 for the bracket and be done with it.

Use your head and common sense.

Or pay zero and just screw the thing into your bumper.
