Good day all,

I have a UK spec Evo VIII MR FQ300 and thoroughly enjoy the machine. However as with all these types of things I am hooked on the buzz and want more...

My thoughts are I want to set up the car for track days but still enable a certain amount of road driving. This leads to several modifications that I am thinking of but I would appreciate any advice or comments, and also any recommended workshops to carry out the work.

My first thought is on the engine. I thought about getting the MR FQ400 turbo fitted with some further mods to get the power to around 450bhp. Also, to balance the large turbo lag I thought about N2O on a timer.

With the gearbox I thought about some form of sequential shift operation. My thoughts around this are that I do not know about aftermarket kits or is there another type of conversion possible.

The final area of upgrade is the brakes. Would a larger set of discs benefit or would it be better to updagrade the current with different material and cross drilled discs. My concern is that I do not want to loose performance on the normal road. Bigger wheels are available so I do not mind fitting larger discs.

I look forward to reading any comments.

Regards,

Scott
