firebreatha, are you sure you can safely install the hid's in there, i had the same projector housings on mine (when i had my 99 gst) and i was specifically told that they are not made for hids because they will melt the housings... you should check up on that so as not to mess up the housings

Been about a year and a half :)
HIDs are not that hot. Unless you are not using New projectors. if you use the projectors that came with those headlights, then yes things could go to hell.

Has anyone seen these yet?

I'm thinking about ordering them.  They seem to be brighter than the stock bulbs without any extra wattage.  Any thoughts?

Does anyone know if these seem safe? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just trying to learn from the vets on here.

I wouldn't buy automotive products from anyone with lower than 99.5% feedback. I've been screwed before.

i hate to say it this time but manybrews is right. it will burn up your harness too much wattage for what the car sould use. plus the ballist is use to ignite the bulb and take roughly 1100 volts to do it (give or take a few hundred volts) so thus making it very expensive. try buying one for a M5 BMW it will cost you around a grand just to look at it

Ok I typed this all up last night but lost it lol .... But our headlights are H13 and you do need to disable you daylight running lights for your kit to last longer if not they will flicker like strobe lights because the drl draw less power to run .... They are illegal but i have had them on my old car "05 Tiburon" for a year and never been pulled over but im sure its just like window tint dont go extreame with it and you shouldnt be bothered .... Also they dont burn hot at all they actually burn very cool more cool then your regular headlights so you dont have to worrie about melting your housing like you would with regular bulbs that just have blue coating on em ..... You will loose the use of ur brights since our reg and brights use one bulb they do make kits that you can have brights with but I havnt found em for less then $500 and hids are already bright so why bother ...If you buy a kit make sure you buy one with a wireing harness or buy a wireing harness because our electrical systems are not made to run that much power to the headlamps and it will messup your entire electrical system like make your interior lights flash and alot of crazy stuff .... the wireing harness uses a relay that draws the power from your battery and then to the headlights so when you turn you lights on you are really turning on the relay .... they come in all different colors the 10000k kit is like a royal purple color and the 6000k is almost a crystle white the lower in number you go the brighter they are I perfer the 8000k kit its very blue but not too much and its also bright ... here is a link where you can buy them from I got mine from here the kit has the ignitor and ballast in one so it makes it alot easier to hook up plus its only "$250" but it does not come with a wire harness so you will have to get one off ebay or something or just make ur own there cheep mayeb like $25 but its deffently worth saving your electrical system ... here is the link Hid Kit link if you have to login its free to sign up oh and here is a pic of my tibs headlights .... (IMG:http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d73/jason0785/Picture002.jpg)

I recently bought an xtec HID kit from xenonexpert.com 360 shipped and a happy customer in the end. Its a very popular kit on the mazda forums, I love the output and color of the 6000k kit. It runs off 35w, and the only wiring you have to actually do is plug them in. No finding a ground, running a wire to the battery etc. Plug the spades into the headlight bulb connector and plug that wire to the ballast\ignitors (which are in the same unit) Very simple. From my understanding they run much cooler than a halogen bulb, so you could use whatever projector housings you wanted. I forgot who said something about them pulling more power at startup, thats true, but its only for a split second so there wont be any issues with it.

you cannot just bolt in an HID kit on this car, due to the DRLs and the way the system functions.  You WILL destroy the HIDs, or more directly thier ballasts.
not too mention the fact that HIDs are illegal, as are most of those rediculous looking "blue light bulbs" people screw in (which ultimately melt the socket and wiring due to the added 35 watt draw on the circuit).

thats interesting my old car had the high bright blue beems and they were fine the whole time i had the car nothing ever happened except the normal burn outs but that was like after a year or so of them being in. as far as HIDs go im not sure cause i dont know what they stand for but instead of asking im going to go take a look.

Looks like oncoming traffic and cars in front of you really love your HID kit too.

This shows exactly why they made these kits illegal. there is light bleeding over the cutoff that goes straight into other drivers. Your attempt at being cool can cause accidents and causes discomfort to others. Way to go.

Here is how a Real HID install goes, Still illegal but will not blind other drivers, and actually performs BETTER rather than worse. (the bluer the less lumens that reach the ground)

(IMG:http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7015/projectorhidsetup5ug.jpg)

(IMG:http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/3875/beam23xm.jpg)

That's with just one headlight. :gunsmilie: and look at how far away that garage is compared to that wall shot with the HID kit.

Avoid HID Kits, they are a waste of time and money. If you want to learn about how to do HIDs go to www.hidplanet.com/forums
If you really appreciate the site donate a couple bucks to keep it going.

not to go on any one or anything but HIDs i think would be fine if you angled them down a little. and from fires pic to me that would not blind an on coming driver cause that is sitting about bumper level (but then again he might be on a semi hill which i cant tell.)

correct me if im wrong on any of my information but dont blast me.
