If I were you I would wait approx 1-2 years before buying a unit because the Spectra Radar Detector Detector will pick you up and before you have a chance to say Oh may God!!!...He's Gotcha!!!
The unit wil pick up any radar detector on the market and I mean ANY!!!
So a Cop, Highway Patrol, State Trooper or D.O.T. officer has one in use and will detect you have one then all hehas to is leave his gun off then switch it on when he sees your baby blues up close then it's too late to jam on ther brakes.

The distance is 1-5-7 miles from you to him with the Spectra.

The distance of a radar gun flat ground about 3-5 miles.

Rumor was they were going to a very rapid form of frequency hopping and or going back to the old S band or even using some EU country frequencys.

I keep you guys updated on that as well in the future.

If you must have one do not spend ya whole wad on a $350.00 but instead buy a Cobra for about $100.00 then bank the reast till Valentine or Bell can solve this little problemand make sure it has POP detection on it it's a way for him to pop you in a split and most detectors cannot pick up this rapid form of a speed trap.

The Spectra is upgradable so the Detector makers have a lot of work to do to get back in the game.

Trust me this is no joke Texas has it so does Va. and D.C. they got it too, I think Main has it also California has it and I think Georgia too .

I got a warning ticket in Texas becuse I drive rig and yada yada we ain't supposed to have em, I got a funny story one day I'll posty about that :)

If you get a detector get a Bear Tracker Scanner the moble 12 I think is the number It has Trunking software built inside (It's a split channel operation along with hopping in a split I go into detail another day) if it's legal in your state look it up on the WEB you can find out ya state in some cases all you need is a HAM license easy to get no morris code for Tec. Class.

Lazer is a another way for them to get ya Ohio likes that kinda money maker you can buy a bra for ya car from K-40 to beat those tickets and K-40 has a light defuser that will fool that gun as well.

There is a unit that does jam radar but it will cost you about $600.00 to buy and or 20 years in jail if caught, it only works about 75-80% of the time becuse it has to find the frequency then dial it in in a matter of milliseconds.

There are sprays you can cover your plate to beat them cameras at the red light works sooo good corrupt lawmakers are trying to ban it.

Stay away from the so call radar jammers that say they are passive they don't work!

I had one tried it out on a street corner speed detector like you see in school zones...Bada Bing!!! don't work!!!

And don't belive the fish finder rumor that don't jam nothing either, used to back in the good ol days but not the new digital guns.

Good luck guy if I think of any more n4 I let you know :)

Oh yea one good thing about the Bear Tracker 8 is it has the option of reciving his transponder so you will know if a Cop is 3 miles from your location (Omni diretional works better with an outside antanna on ya car) that is if he has it on.
It a transmitter that Cops use to let other officers know that he is in the area or if he should get laid down by a bullet etc...

((((Sorry the correct number of the unit is the BCT 8))))) :)

Nope it can be picked up too! But a white noise generator might give em a headache tho! hehehehehe!
What it does is just generate a bunch of static across the whole radio spectrum including your car stereo and or radar detector, if you could get a radio shop to amp it to at least 100 watts you could wipe yourself off his screen all together only draw back is he'll know it's you unless you are in a pack :)
