Sup Guys,

I have a 99 spyder GS and am considering getting a muffler for it. Upon doing my search on this forum I hear the APEXi N1 mufflers get pretty good reviews and have a nice deep bassy sound which is what im looking for. I need a couple things,

First of which, is this APEXi N1 muffler official?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/APEXi...spagenameZWDVW

Secondly, Can I just weld the muffler on the factory piping?

Lastly, Anyone running this muffler on a GS Spyder?

Thanks

If you use your stock piping all your getting is sound no perfermance AT ALL. and sound will be a bit quieter than it should because the air flow is more restricted

definately. If you want to just toss a can on you are wasting money, unless you only want the sound. a muffler shop would be able to make you a custom cat-back to your specs cheaper than buying one and they will install any muffler you bring them to the end of it.

If you only want sound you don't have to spend big bucks on a muffler.

Thanks for the valuable feedback guys.

Sounds interesting PeeWee, so your saying I can get a muffler and have a muffler shop make me a custom pipe from the cat back? How much do you think that will run for?

most shops would be able to do it for around $200-$250. but it will vary from shop to shop.

I only paid about 120 for the custom pipe at a muffler shop near by. It was a 3" pipe

I had a shop put 2.5" I.D. the whole way back from the cat for $225 not including the price of the muffler. it was a tsudo carbon fiber that only ran me $100 because a friend bought it and never used it for his crapalier.
