An engine build for a turbo on the 420A is not needed. If you are not looking for more than 275hp, the stock engine will handle it. Hahn racecraft makes stage 1-5 turbo kits for the 420A eclipse. Stage 2 with the front mount intercooler is the max you can go at 10psi on stock internals. Run a compression check first to make sure all cylinders are strong. Works great for me and they know there stuff and they have taught me well. http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/eclipse/eclipse.htm

over 275, forged pistons, rods, clutch, springs and retainers are needed to withstand higher boost capacities 11+psi. Also with hahn turbos, you get good power for less boost pressure unlike some of those STAR turbos for eclipes. They did their homework on this engine

I always recommend not going over 220hp on stock internals. the main reasons why is that the stock pistons are cast. cast pistons swell with intense heat that is common in turbo applications. the 220 is conservative to protect engine parts. if you push an engine to extreme limits that it wasn't built for your failure rate is very high.

you really only need aftermarket valve springs and retainers with aftermarket cams. the stock ones will be just fine otherwise.

i agree that hahn uses good turbos, mitsu turbos

I like all the information, if i do all the work myself (with the help of some trusty friends) is it possible to get a simple turbo setup for under a grand? If so what is the probability of blowing my engine? I want to do it a lagit but i also want to keep it cheap and affective. :)

Any hel is apreciated
