Not sure if anyone else was let down to discover the new Eclipses didn't come with a prepackaged Navigational computer built in... I mean civics have them... even with a lower sticker price than a bare GS....

Alright so I borrowed my boss's wife's tom tom navigational system, and after a few minutes of figuring out how to use it I had to give it a live drive test.

I must admit, with the packaged "wind sheid arm" which uses a strong suction cup it mounts very nicely to the left of the wind sheid and sits just about dash level, since the dash gauges are rounded off and don't span all the way to the door leaving a space the system fits nice and snug not to mention its eye level with the road and other heads up gauges.

the verdict..... I'm a little upset that I had to "recalculate route" 4 times to get my usual route home to show up, some of the places this thing tried to guide me are rather unfavorable... e.g. true this back street does have less traffic, no lights, and very few stop signs.......... but it DOES have HUGE speed bumps every 200 yards for 2 miles....

in summary, I'll probably get one because I do a lot of unfamiliar driving in Miami and other areas where finding your way can be a pain in the ****.... not to mention in Boca they don't use street signs..... 8 lanes of traffic converging at an intersection with 2 left turn lanes at each direction... and no street sign.......

and first of all i dont know where are you getting 19300, i have base model, and i ended up paying 22k with some extra, and i basolutely agree that mitsubishi have to start moving up, every single car that comes out in this days have a higher horsepower, and better packages, i mean look at RSX, CIVICS, Mazdas, even srt4s are better packet but it is only my opinion

I, on the other hand, am quite impressed with my new eclipse. It has everything that I could possibly want in a car: big power, big wheels, big stereo system, LED tailights, and a beautifull orange and white leather interior. Besides all of that, there are so many litle details that make this a great car; like the blue LEDs in the dash, the stereo controls behind the wheel, the aluminum gas door and pedals, vented disc brakes, the windows that go down a litle when you open the door, etc.

And these cars are worth the 20K. I work on them everyday, and every single customer tells me about how happy they are with it. Plus, the Civic has been THE most reliable car available. If it tells you how far they have come, they have the same 16" wheel size as the '99-05 E36 325i BMW.

Yea, it is an expensive (depending on model) navigation unit that has more features then the typical GPS navigation unit:
