I hope someone can help.
I have the wire harness adapter all set up (lancer 04 to sony), but before I solder and then tape it, I wanted to test it.
Well, the wires must of touched against another since the dome light on top went out, the power door locks don't work, and the radio/clock doesn't work too. If I start the car, only the power locks work. Any help?
I checked all the fuses inside the car under the steering wheel (but both radio and light have no fuse). So I went to look into the engine compartment fuse box, but there the radio and light has some sort of yellow plastic housing which is preventing me from checking/replacing if it indeed needs replacement. Before I break the plastic out of frustration, any advice or tips or even if I'm going about this wrong?

Did you buy a factory wiring harness adapter? Where did you attach the ground? QUOTE(inlancer @ Dec 16 2006, 10:05 PM) I hope someone can help. Finally got the yellow housing off!
Yes, I bought the wiring harness adapter (from crutchfield) for my car - which made everything sooo easy. However, I did not ground it when trying to "test" if it all worked before I solder and tape up the connection and a short must of occurred since the wire connections (between the two harness adapters) were all exposed (a dumb move on my part, I'll admit).
Removing the car's ecm box helped get one side of the yellow housing unclipped and then eventually got the other side..then finally unclipping the two fuses within this housing I was able to see if either fuse blew. You can bet the yellow housing is going straight to the trash - does anyone know why in the world Mitsubishi even has that? and it's purpose other than make a simple fuse check/replacement a twenty minute headache?
Once I removed the broken radio fuse, and reinserted the light fuse, the dome light, power locks(including using the remote), and clock came back on. I'm using a extra 20A fuse currently for the radio. Buying the correct 10A tomorrow.
Thanks though
As for grounding, I currently have it attached to some steel panel towards the back.

QUOTE(utiheadbanger @ Feb 20 2006, 10:20 PM) 1. Remove all 3 HVAC knobs. 2. Unscrew 2 screws inside pocket holding it to the trim panel, both screws are inside at the top. 3. Unscrew 2 screws behind temperature knob and vent selector knob. 4. Remove trim panel around radio and HVAC controls. 5. Unscrew 4 screws holding radio in place, two on left, two on right. 6. Pull radio out. 7. Unscrew 2 screws from adapters, one on each side. 8. Remove wiring harness and antenna cable. for step 2 i can only find one screw on the left bottom side under the steering wheel and its a 02 mist lancer am i missing something??
