On trolling through the site I can identify with those having problems following a replacement timing belt. As I write my local mechanic is pulling his hair out trying to get the engine of my 2.0 rvr sports gear to run smoothly and without stalling.
I was hoping to find a solution to help him, but nothing seems to jump out.

Well the garage used a home made timing jig, and now the engine has better pick up than ever. although there is now a vibration around 3-4000 rpm. When I asked if the balance shaft had been disabled, was told no it hadn't. But they didn't have any idea why but will have another look. I will keep you informed.
Any ideas?
