I was thinking about one, too, but I'd get the 4 solely based on the fact that the Lancer Ralliart has the same engine.

Why? what's out for the V6 that isn't for the four-cylinder? I've got the V6 and I LOVE the power, but I'm wondering what the best and safest way is to get a litle more power. I'm worried about intakes; one of my friends tried to make a custom ram intake on his del sol and ended up with a custom water intake and a new engine.

That's probably because he didn't know what he was doing. Anyone that knows anything about intakes (cold-air type, not short ram) uses a bypass valve and doesn't drive in foot-deep water. If the intake is made FOR THE CAR, you won't have a problem.

Second, since the 2.4L MIVEC is the same as the Ralliart, give it time before those things are made for the Eclipse. Look at how many mods are out for the 2.4L from the 3G Eclipse, not nearly as many as the 3.0L, but enough for people to use.

Well, the suspension on the V6 is made to handle more weight, because, obviously, the V6 weighs a lot more. The rear struts won't be that much different but the fronts are.

I would wait until specific components for the 4 come out. Don't do what I did with my Lancer and get impatient and screw stuff up.

Trust me, give it until this summer and tons of things will be out, someone has to develop these things with a 2006. It usually takes a year from the time the car comes out until aftermarket support is strong for it, especially on a brand new model.

I bought a cheap intake and now I had to buy a decent one to make up for it. I lowered my car with cheap springs that blew out the rear struts so I had to buy new ones with stock springs to take care of that...

Nothing major, but I was impatient and didn't want to do things the right way. Now that I actually work on these things on a daily basis, I understand the reward of buying top-quality items.
