$23,000 out the door with no trade-in and that includes tax, new tag (not transfer), title for the sunset pearlescent (sunset costs about $130.00 more then the other colors) GS with sun/sound pkg, accessory pkg, fog lights and shipment (to deliver the car from another dealership to get the color I wanted). That was mid Feb.
I had to make quite a few calls and that was the best deal I could get around here. I bought it from another town about 60 miles south of where I live.
You shouldn't tell them you are going to trade in a vehicle until they give you a out the door FINAL price for the car regardless of how much pressure they put on you. If you tell them ahead of time that you are going to trade in a car they are going to throw all kinds of numbers at you. They will usually make it sound like they are giving you a lot for your trade in but they will jack up the price of the car in one way or another or leave it at sticker price. Let them come down on the price of the car as much as possible and then tell them about the trade in. Also, make sure you check your trade-in value ahead of time and make sure you get something more then the value of the trade, because they are going to sell it for more.
Don't be too anxious, the sales rep will pick up on it instantly and use it against you. Know exactly what you want before you shop. If possible, try to avoid physically going to the dealership and shop for prices over the phone from as many dealerships as possible. It's frustrating because they will either ignore you or try to get you down there, but in the long run you save time, money, and have less risk being tricked into anything. The first time I ever went to the dealership I already had the check in my hand with the final amount written on it. They had the car I wanted ready, I had the money they wanted ready, no games....that's how it should be.

QUOTE(FiReBReTHa @ Mar 3 2006, 11:57 AM) now with these incentives, can someone negotiate the price, Then at the end come in and say I would also like to get these incentives?
Reason being is I thought those were always for jacking the price up and then "discounting it"
because I can get the Mitsu discount and the wife is going to be on title so we can also then get the recent graduation discount.
Normally when price negotiations start the rebates and incentives that the salesman and managment team know you qualify for are the first step they take to lower the price of the vehicle. We then work from there and negotiate down, at my dealership we have some extra room because of the market adjustment. we cannot keep the eclipses in right now more than likely due to this being such a military town and they want the newest hottest thing out. If you have any other questions about how to negotiate on price, I am the internet salesman for a mitsu dealership in virginia beach. I would be more than happy to assist anyone with any questions, and I will not pressure you on anything. 757 631 5565 p.s. If the group moderator has any problems with my posting this on here please let me know and I will edit it. Just trying to help other eclipse fans not sell anything.

Got a Sunset Pearlescent GT this last Saturday (I am a newbie), with S and S, Accessory package, out the door with tax, title, and license for 22,100, plus 2.9 percent financing on about a 75% loan. Dealer quoted today $236 for chrome exhaust tip and fog light kit installed, parts and labor. Think i will do it. Love the car.
