I was just checking to see if there is anyone that can tell me what to do about squeaky brakes on my 2004 Galant. It has about 38,000 miles on it and I just replaced the pads 2-3 weeks ago, and they are still squeaking. The rotors are in great shape still, and the old pads that I removed weren't even half worn out. Any help?? Info??

Mine squeal too, especially when they are wet... My pads are still good. I don't find it too bad.

take your pads back off and chamfer the edges that run 90* to the discs run.most brake squeal is caused by glazed discs and/or the fact that new brake pads are made of a much harder composition nowadays to improve braking force.good in theory but can cause squeal when cold generally or light/low speed braking.also wash the brakes off occassionally with your garden hose as brake dusk can produce squeal as well

Did you guys simply slap pads on the car? Unless you resurface the rotors/replace the rotors AND grease the slides on the caliper brackets, you should expect noise.
