So there have been a couple of funny stories here about racing attempts. I figured I would start a topic on this to see what kind of cars have tried to race our 4g Eclipse cars. Please let us know what vehicle(s) tried to race you and what happened!

Yay, I'm first! ^_^

Well... I have noticed that MANY cars want to race mine... incluiding SUVs.
Here's a short list:

- Chevy Astra
- Chevy Opel (manyyyy)
- "Tuned" Volkswagen Beetle
- VW Jetta (any version, many of them)
- VW New Beetle
- Audi A4 1.8L
- Audi A3 2.0L turbo
- Ford Focus
- Nissan Tsuru (old car model that only comes out here in Mexico)
- Ford Explorer, Lobo
- Mini Cooper (S version too)
- Scooters!

Is too bad no "real sports car" has tried to race me on a red light. I think that once you get a sports car, you don't really care about measuring it's power against others. Could also be cuz many people who got real sports cars like Porsches, BMW and Mercedes Benz are old, boring men too.

I don't think you'd be able to beat any 3 series BMWs...at least not the E90 sedans or the M3. The E90 has 255HP but has a faster-shifting 6 speed and the M3 has 330HP.

I don't know if I'd be excited about beating a Focus. I have beaten a Focus in my slow automatic Lancer. :460:

I tried to race a WRX Sti once. Was a nice "S" curve onramp to a highway. We didn't have an official start. I was doing pretty good until he realized I was going (about a second into it). Then it was nothing but him catching up and passing me (on the outside of a curve) while I had to let off the gas because my tires were starting to complain.
Needless to say, I got stomped (which I was expecting).

Last one was a Dodge Stratus. I won that one.

Attached ImageYeah I raced the WRX STI at a light. Very surprising that he only had me by not even a car length for about two blocks. I have an automatic GT with a fujita intake and a buscher axle back exhaust. But towards the end he must have gotten scared because I smoked him. You know it is very tempting when you have the sound of a turbo revving up next to you!

Love the mods! I can tell you have put some serious work (and money) into your car, I am indeed jealous! Perhaps one day I can post a similar pic :)

So I guess the Razzi kit is good! XD
I was going to buy one, but reconsidered... now I guess I'll save for it, and my new black rims (which are getting real hard to find! >.<).

I think you have exceeded most peoples standards so far! Besides, even though there are enough mods to keep us happy for now there is sure to be a lot more down the road. Have you considered installing exhaust kit or carbon fiber parts?

I'm going to start a few projects soon: intake, pulley kit, springs and hopefully by then some new stuff will be available.

BTW: You should post the most recent pic of your car in your profile so that when someone clicks your name it will be viewable :)

Yeah didn't mean to be sarcastic. Really i am thinking of the carbon fiber dash kit but not sure on the hood. The first hood option would be the GT PRO hood. Cost alot of money but i think it would look really nice as for pictures the weather here has been very ugly so on a nice clear day i am going to take some updated pictures. Thanks for the feedback!

i raced a cat the other day but i think it took a shortcut down the alley and beat me to the end of the block. i would have won but my snail 2.4L would not get out of its own way.

ok happened to me today. not really raceing but messing around with a 04 or 05 mustang GS then a Tiburon GT came up and we all were doing about 80-90 till we came up to a cop and we all slowed down. the tib got infront of a big truck and the stang got in front of a pick up truck. the cop followed me for like 10 miles :) i think he was checking my plates.

I have a problem of racers not going as fast as me. they seem to top out at about 60 and i'll just keep going. You gotta have the balls to top her out :)

I'm very picky about who i race, you have to have standards man.

Since everyone and their mother around here has a Mustang thats usually what i've been racing. Oh and i love to take down the older eclipses just to laugh at'em.

Winter is gone, Spring is here, hopefully i'll have more lineups.

(did 120 down the highway with a brand new mustang. f**ken fun is all i can say)

Yes and you should have standards as to how fast you go.The reason is you have power but dont let that power get away from YOU! I think 120 is a bit extreme personally, but do as you please aint gonna be my funeral but : the person you kill! Try explaining to the persons family as to why you were driving 120mph? not tring to be an ****, just stating facts. :amen:
