Well, are either of the vehicles modded? are they both autos, or both sticks, or niether? what trim level of the ram? 1500, 2500, 3500, crew cab? What about experience level of the drivers? where will the race take place? a prepped track, a back road, a muddy pit? straight 1/4 mile run, or are there corners?

not to mention that I thought the rams came with 5.9 liter v-8s making 200+ horsepower and 300+ torque. So is this a swap or a typo? There was also a 5.9 liter turbo deisel, just to completely confuse the question of what engine is really in the truck?

now the truck weighs a hell of a lot more, but has gobs more torque, and isn't front wheel drive. So, based on the info I have I'd have to bet on...

The one painted the deepest shade of red.

This is a silly question. Why even race a truck? Did the guy driving it spit his chew on your car, and you have to chase him down? Unless we are talking a puropse built truck (ie: ford lightning, or something like that) why would you try to race a purpose built freight hauler?

anywho, good luck getting the chew stains off your paint. I've had good results with megiaurs(sp?) cleaning stuff.

Yeah...or the 3.7L V6, or the 4.7L V6...or does that Ram got a Hemi?

And, as stated above, is the car jacked up for off-roading or is it lowered for street/strip racing?

I think that if the eclipse has a bad launch (ie bogs or spins) it will be the ram winning.

However, I don't know how a ram responds to a simple exhuast upgrade.

I would believe that the eclipse should have a better power to weight ratio. for whatever that's worth.

run him and find out.

oh, wait. this is something a fair amount of people forget about. If either car has a 300 lb system in it, that will slow them down considerably. the Eclipse FOR SURE. Nobody would run the 1/4 mile with their overwieght mother in law in the trunk, so don't do it with 300 lbs of stereo either. :) Especially seeing as all that wieght is over the wrong set of wheels, and robbing traction from the set that counts.

The 5.9 responds well to exhaust...at least if it's muffled. I put one on a Dakota R/T.

Hmm...overweight mother-in-law? I sure hope you know that's what your wife will look like :460:
