This is for everyone who asks, "How can I make my Lancer faster, what can I do to increase performance?"

Attached is an article describing the upgrade path for the US Lancer 2.0L (ES or OZ), model years 2003-2006.

Enjoy.

How much should we be paying for installation? And should we be getting it done at the Mitsu dealer/garage?

how much for installation of what?

A dealer won't install aftermarket parts for you. You'll have to have a non-dealer shop do it.

Mitsu can't order and install a simple anti-sway bar? I don't see how that could void any existing warranty. (Engine mods, okay, I could see how they would be opposed to that).

They could order and install aftermarket parts, but they won't. Why? Ask the dealer. It's most likely political.

Who said an anti-sway bar would void the warranty, but a dealer can refuse to install non-OEM parts on a car. Take it to a non-dealer shop if you really need it installed for you.

OEM part? Do they supply Mitsu? Isn't there a such thing as OEM Air Intake? (One of the top contenders?)

Original Equipment Manufacturer - OEM. No, there is not an OEM Air Intake (other than what your car comes with).

hey i have a 03 lancer oz and i been wanting to get a cold air intake for it for along time. everytime i call injen or aem or fujita or brands like that they tell me that they only have cold air intakes for manuals and i have a automatic. what is the big difference? my friend has a manual lancer and the setup under the hood is all the same. what can be causing this that i cant get a cold air for my automatic. i was thinking about creating my own but i dont know how its gunna work. if you could give me some tips or a answer that would be great.

The automatic transaxle is larger than the standard manual transmission. The bell housing is larger to fit a torque convertor. Since it needs a larger housing, it sticks out underneath the battery, where the filter for the cold air would go.

:blush-anim-cl: Hey guys, I'm new to all this, so please help me out here. I have a 2002 lancer VRX (sports auto) and would like to do some perfomance mods on it... I have read through the US lancer upgrade path but not sure if these mods could be of any use to me as, as I have said, have a 2002 model VXR. I would also like some tips of which type of turbo would work and what sort of mods I'd have to make. Any information would be greatly aprreciated!! Cheers!

Hello. It depends on how much you know about cars to be able to install it yourself. If and when I get mine I will be installing it my self, it's pretty much just an air filter and pipe.... not tooo hard....

Check out the site below for some information on short ram intakes... may help you!! Good lock and please let me know how you go! Cheers!

first off if you plan on goin more than 12 psi on the turbo id suggest to replace the camshaft if you havent already done so. next would be a new ported intake manifold from www.roadracemotorsports.com then after that id go with the the limmited slip dif from road race so youd launce a hell of alot better then contact willwood and get a brake system. hopefully you already have four disc brakes if not your lookin at a pretty penny for the rear conversion.
