If he has an 06 GS and you have a 95 esi, he should take you pretty easy. Unless you are heavily modded.

I do not like Bench racing.

But if it helps deter you two in a dumb reckless race then I will post,

The ESI is a 3k 140 BHP
The GS is at 3500 and 164 HP

The GS has a newer tranny in addition to the stronger engine which would lead me to say that the GS will take the ESI due to its age and older tranny setup.

WHAT... lol... sorry i just found that funny, an esi has only 140 hp, the gs has 163 hp, it should be a pretty even race seeing as the talon weighs about 2700 and the gs weighs about 3200, so i think it would come down to a matter of who can shift better

Yah, that's what people have been tellin me. He is not a great driver. He totaled it in the first two weeks of driving, and he stalls frequently.

All I know is that 2nd gen dsm's with the 420a motors are dogs. I would hope that superior technology would produce better performance. If not and what you say is true that an 06 gs would be an even race with an esi.. I'm sorry for you. And If you want to go on a tangent about how we 2nd gen dsm owners are just hating on your cars because we can't afford one, well I have a brand new car and I bought it instead of an 06 GS because it is a better performer and gives me the luxury of four doors and a LSD.

Your 95 Esi came with a 420a motor in it. Basically a dodge neon engine. Saying that the car is a dog is stating that it is slow. I am not meaning to offend you, it is just the simple truth. Unless you have replaced or rebuilt that engine, it is now 11 years old. There are many factors in a race. Which is why bench racing sucks. gOOsy was stating that it should be a close race because even though your engine makes less power, your car is lighter. His statement would be right IF both of these cars were brand new. We don't know enough about your car. Being 11 years old your car could have a tired old engine, in need of a tuneup or other mechanical help = Loss in power. We also don't know if you have a tired old clutch =Loss in power. We also don't know if you have added a heavy stereo system to your car= Increase in weight. And we also don't know if there are any mods done to your car. This is why bench racing sucks and these questions should not be asked on forums. Go race him and then post about how you killed him, or how you lost.

(IMG:http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/1562/05180517254uw.jpg)

ok there are 2 of my old cars, a 95 talon esi and a 99 eclipse gst, i know those motors and this new 06 very well, trust me it will be an even race

and the 2g's with the 420's are not dogs at all, you put a turbo on them they can perform just as well at the 4g63, a stock 06 eclipse gs vs a stock well maintained 95 talon esi will be a good race, weather the car is old or not, going by what soapy said basically then a 07 kia would be able to beat the 95 talon... lol... i think not

but in the end it is true, you can talk about it all you want... but to really find out you have to do it

Actually it's funny that you mentioned a Kia not being able to beat a 420a powered dsm. Just this past weekend I was at moroso motorsports park in West Palm Beach for a 1/4 mile test and tune night. One of my friends ran his 96 eclipse GS. The car is very well maintained and he is a good driver. His eclipse has just an intake and exhaust. his best run of the night was a 16.3. A couple of runs later I saw a white stock kia optima ex v6 make a 16.1 pass.

Are you high?

HOW many mods are you talking about, modifying a 420 to exceed a 4g63 is an act of stupidity with the amount of money spent on an unreliable engine MAXING 6 PSI.

you take half of the amount of money you wasted on the 420 to match to the 4g63T and then watch the 4g63 become untouchable.

This race reminds me of the contest howard stern did;

"Who has the smallest penis."

That's what I was thinking. Some people are disillusioned by a car that they own. Because it has a feeling of speed and they own it, They think its the greatest invention since peanut chews. The truth is 420a powered dsm's were mass factory produced slowness. Honest and rational Na 2nd generation dsm owners have the balls to admit that fact and work hard on making their car into a sleeper.

ok i not talking about JUST puttin a turbo on a 420a and wallah its just as good as the 4g63, i mean you build up the engine with the correct internals, headers, exhaust and do it all right you can get an engine just as good (not better) but just as good as a 4g63

btw i wasnt high....... when i posted that...

And to accomadate the additional weight of the fat **** car its lugging around.

you get a 3 cylinder festiva as fast as you want, But seriously, how much money do you want to burn, and when do you plan on buring it because i am more than happy to beat you up and take your money and be like :liebe011:

:) point being anything is possible, it would be as fast as, but not as reliable, and that peaks the 420a out, whereas you just touched the 4g63 Butt and when he drops in two mods your peaked 420a is done.

(I wasnt directing at "You" just meant "you" as "them" to be "everyone")

heh.

crack is bad.
