QUOTE(blue06eclipse @ Jul 19 2006, 01:26 AM)
RF systems need an aftermarket amp to work the door speakers as well.
*

A guy on the club4geclipse forum said the following:

QUOTE
The stock sub and front door speakers will not work if you have the stock Rockford system and you just use a wiring harness.

However...

QUOTE
You can bypass the factory amp and have no sub and run off the deck, or you can figure out how to use a line output converter to use the factory amp...I don't know much how the line output converter works, but I've been told it can be done.

Anybody got any info on this? Could somebody explain to me why a line output converter is needed (i.e. why won't the sub and front speakers work with the Eclipse AVN unit)? If this isn't possible, what amp can you recommend me?

Hey, Nice job...

I am looking to keep my head unit for the time being, but wanted to installing my rockford fosgate 2ch amp, rf cap, and kicker comp sub in the trunk. I have a line converter for the remote wiring issue but I need a wiring diagram to figure out which wire is the constant power wire and such...

do you have a pic of the wiring diagram or know where I can go to get one...

No diagram but I'll try to figure it out for you tomorrow. Let me know if you need any other wires off the head unit as well.

try www.installdoctor.com you can subscribe to www.staubtech.com too... or do it the old fashioned way and use your good ol multi meter! (not test light!!) anyway i put this in another thread but....it was on topic now...

I was thinking about taking the whole radio out and putting in a double DIN kenwood deck DDX 6019 which has not only the aux feature, but sub out and front and rear outputs... i'll lose the 6 disc changer feature but...oh well thats what mp3's are for. another downfall is the fact that I'll have to customize the dash which...I dont know if I want to permanantly alter it although I know it would be easy to do (as youve already seen with alaldorf). Anyway, The reason I wanted to take out the factory deck so I can upgrade the subs and amp in the back. I have a rockford 1001 bd amp and 4 rockford p3's that I want to throw in and in order to do it I would need to have rca output off of the deck. I haven't been in the back to check it out to see if there is a sub output on the back of the facctory deck yet (does anyone know?) because that would save me alot of trouble... As well does any one know if the amp that is running the factory sub amplifies the other speakers? (I realize some of these questions have already been answered!) I havn't ripped the car apart yet since i pic it up for the first time Tomorrow!!! but I was wondering if the speakers were good quality rockofords or just a step above regular factory speakers. I was wondering because if I would need to amplify them after redoing the subs with an alternate amp (not the factory) I am concerned if those rockford speakers can handle it...

btw I work as an mobile audio install tech....but because there arent many eclipses in my town I havnt worked on one yet...I guess mine is the guinny pig!

Hey that's a nice looking job you did there. BTW how much did it cost for the DVD system? I would like to buy one sometime, but spending 1200 or 1400 would be outrageous since I just spent that much on a 32" flat screen LCD T.V. for my house. I just don't see spending that much money on one that is only maybe 10" give or take.

hey i have a really important question to ask u or n e one that can answere this...
i baught a dvd/navi system for my 07 eclipse gs the other day..
i also have the upgraded rockford fosgate system in my car that i got from the factory(cause im an *****).... if i hook up the navi/dvd head unit.. then i lose the power to my front speakers and my sub... its cuz the rockford fosgate system in my car is weird.... but im looking for like an amp intagrade kit so that i can hook up the front speakers and sub to that new head unit.. i think the kit is also known as land wire... but i was wondering if u had the same problem then how did u fix it... i know i can run a separate amp to the speakers and sub but it would take too much work......... so please if n e one knows of this wire kit out there to integrate my amp and speakers into that new head unit plus the rear speakers and tweaters then i would b very happy.. it would save me a lot of time and money .. if n e one knows about this please let me know

it wont work with the unit because the amp only runs the subs and front speakers.... the head unit is inegrated to run the tweaters and rear speakers... the new head unit is only puts out 50 watts to 4 chanels only... this mean it can only b hooked up to 4 speakers... if u have the fosgate system in your car then u notice that there are no amp integrated wires behind the radio.. this means that u cant hook the factory amp up to the aftermaket head unit
