Who are the people telling you this? Do they own the vehicle? If they do not own it how are they coming across this info? I hae personally sold 3 of them since they came out, and my dealership has sold 9 total. Not one of them has come back for anything other than an oil change. That guy loves it so much he has done nothing but drive it. Even if the car is "unreliable" that is why it has a 5/60 B2B warranty and a 10/100 powertrain. If it breaks down Its on mitsu not you. Get the car you will love it. It will give you years of reliable service.

Sorry if I came across a little harsh, I just hate the fact that people bad mouth these cars without any knowledge what so ever of the vehicle in question. They did have some trouble with reliability some time back, but it is not the case anymore. If it was they would not have a 10 yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty on them. They would not be able to stay in buisness If they had to put new engines or trannys in every car they sold. If you do your regular maintenence on them as described in the owners manual these cars will go 200k. however if you do not do your regular maintenence of course your car will break down. I don't care if you have a Toyota, Gods gift to reliability. You don't maintain it it will blow too.

I think they are lying saying they got it that cheap, that is below invoice. and sometimes it i possible to get them below because of mitsu money, there isn't any on the spyders yet. So either that deal lost money on a brand new hot car or they lied to you

i have to agree with the dealer, the warranty is one of the top warranties offered. if you have a hard time believing a dealer i'll back him up. i own the 06 gs with sun and sound package. never had a problem and love the car. some cars have different problems but thats to come with something that is mass built on a production line. but there hasnt been any huge mass issues nationwide or anything like that if your worried about that. im not a big american car fan so i'll compare mistu to a american car company. say you went and bought a cobalt, will chevy promise you that the engine and transmission will run for the next ten years you own it? will they tell you that if you have any problems with your engine or tranny in ten years they will replace it for free? no, im pretty sure they offer the normal 3 yr 36k mile bumper to bumper and 6yr powertrain warranty. compared to mitsu's 5 year bumper to bumper and 10 yr powertrain warranty.

I have owned a 06 Eclipse for several months now with no problems or concerns, I love the car. Every car will have a problem eventually, no car is perfect, that includes Honda and Toyota. The Eclipse has a great warranty and includes road side assitance. If I own the car 9 years from now and the transmission goes Mitsubishi will replace/fix it at no cost to me. If I'm driving the car and break down, run out of gas, get a flat tire, all I have to do is call Mitsubishi and they will send someone to help me and even tow the car to a local dealership to have it fixed asap if need be, at no charge to me.

You can't say the same about most manufacturers!

Here is another thing to consider. How many Mitsubishi's have you seen broken down on the side of the road lately?

I bet you the people who bashed the Eclipse and supplied you with negative comments has probably never owned a Mitsubishi. I also bet you that they ONLY praise Honda, Toyota, BMW, etc... because they have been "brain washed" to do so. If they are your personal friends I mean no disrespect, just giving an example of where a lot of negetive bashing usually comes from.

On the eclipse resale is comparable. No cash incentives. Just the best warrantied vehicles out. By the way your roadside assistance, applys even in an accident situation. no one elses does.

Hi Gang,

I'm new to the forum. I am sersiously condiering purchasing a 2007 Spyder GT - the vehicle turns my head EVERY time i see one go by.

One questions concerns E85 fuel. I know its not here yet, but I'm thinking things could change drastically over the next five years and it could become a standard fuel. If so, does anyone have any experiences SPECIFICALLY with Spyder conversions to E85 or know if Mitsubishi will be coming out with a Spdyer compatible with E85? IF i buy now am i gonna be screwed?

thanks,
Elrod

Mitsu is in 4th place overall in reliability according to consumer reports.
behind lexus, toyota, and honda.

so whomever is telling you they arent reliable is an ****.

I have an 07 spyder gt and I have to say it is one of the best cars that I have driven in my life. I just bought it a month ago and I love it. Just like the dealer was saying that the people that say crap like that are the ones that would love to have them and can't. What they do is turn around and talk crap about something they would loved to have. If you have the opportunity to buy one do it and don't listen to the idiots that talk trash. Trust me I am 30 and I love my car and everyones head turns when I drive by. Good luck
