I have a 2002 Carisma. A fantastic car, unfortunately the display (clock, outside temp, miles per gallon etc) is now blank and my factory fitted CD player/radio (although works) cannot be controlled. It will play a CD without being able to skip tracks and the radio works on only one station! The radio also fails to illuminate when on. Garage told me I need new display at £420.00 plus fitting, anyone got any other ideas?? thanks

Greetings from Estonia.
You dont need a new fuse. I have -00 Carisma and had a same problem. It's this kind a genial idea to put display and sigarette lighter under same fuse. I used broken Nokia charger in sig. lighter and got rid of this fuse. Meaning had no display picture too after that. This fuse is located left, under your steering wheel, above your left foot. It is a tiny red 10A fuse.
Good Luck!

Harles

I also have a 2000 Carisma 1.8 GDi and my console display is simply showing the word 'LOCK' following the battery going flat. The radio works OK but of course there is no display of which station you are tuned to and no clock etc. I'm struggling to tell night from day without the clock!! Any idea how to recalibrate this/unlock the display without paying the dealer?

Thanks in anticipation.....

Hi there, appologies if this is too late, I had the same problem recently & like previously stated the cig' lighter/display fuse had gone, I found mine in a small box under the steering wheel on the right, 15a fuse (blue), cheers, Martvin
