there is! The only way i've found to select it is through the "wheel" remote. There is not a button to select it from the dash. I'm pretty sure you're gonna have to open the dash and rig a wire to get access to it though. I haven't found plug for it yet anywhere.

the plug is right in the dash, DONT OPEN THE DASH UP!!!
if you turn the headlights on, there will be a blue light coming from the aux-in port! wave your hand under the lip of the dash (below the stereo controls) to find the light.

It amazes me that no one found this.

but it really should be in the manual.

good luck.

well that hole isn't the AUX input, thats just the blue LED light, try and put something in there and you're gonna ruin the light. The only function for that hole is to illuminate the shifter.

the "aux" function does nothing.
it was designed either for future use, or for something that was inteneded to be installed but did no make it.
although you can turn "aux" on, it does nothing.

Supposedly you can get a cable that can be plugged into the wire harness outlet and then you are good to go. Got to talk to the dealer.

They do make cables that will hook up to the aux and then hook into your head set area of your ipod or mp3 player. i have not been able to really look at it and test it as i do not have the tools to get to it. if some one can tell me how i can get to it with out ripping things out i will try and test it out on my own.

MZ607411EX iPod Adapter $216
MZ598118EX iPod Harness $43

now, has anybody found a much cheaper solution? i'd really like to know.

there is a couple of options...you can get the expensive ipod peice which will sound alot better than my alternative but you will have wires to deal with making it look a bit sloppy unless you actually install it properly...the other way is to use an fm transmitter that you can get for around 50 dollars depending on the peice. It is fm quality though, the downside, but there are no wires.

I was thinking about taking the whole radio out and putting in a double DIN kenwood deck DDX 6019 which has not only the aux feature, but sub out and front and rear outputs... i'll lose the 6 disc changer feature but...oh well thats what mp3's are for. another downfall is the fact that I'll have to customize the dash which...I dont know if I want to permanantly alter it. Anyway, The reason I wanted to take out the factory deck so I can upgrade the subs and amp in the back. I have a rockford 1001 bd amp and 4 rockford p3's that I want to throw in and in order to do it I would need to have rca output off of the deck. I haven't been in the back to check it out to see if there is a sub output on the back of the facctory deck yet (does anyone know?) because that would save me alot of trouble... As well does any one know if the amp that is running the factory sub amplifies the other speakers? Well this should be a new thread but it kindof is in the same catagory!

btw I work as an mobile audio install tech....but because there arent many eclipses in my town I havnt worked on one yet...I guess mine is the guinny pig!

You know that there is a dash kit sold on installer.com for the Eclipse that utilizes a Double DIN radio opening?

I have an update to my previous post; it turns out that the iPod Harness & Adapter is NOT the solution (which makes sense because that most likely connects to the USB on an iPod and "inserts" it into the existing CD Changer wiring harness.) Now Mitsu tells me the part is an Audio Auxiliary Cable, which is not in stock (still under development.) They also tell me that it will use "Yazaki" style pins. One more thing... somewhere in another post, i read that there is some doubt if the AUX port is even functional on '06 and '07 Eclipses...Mitsu tells me it "should be" (*whew*?)

Someone needs to concatenate the two AUX posts to make one large one. If you read manybrews' response in the other thread, it shows a tech talk article saying that the AUX button is not a function YET.

I have finally found a cheap solution to my need for an AUX input on my Rockford Fosgate stereo in my 2006 Eclipse. Mitsubishi finally sells an AUX input cable (goes to a 1/8" jack). I called many Mitsubishi dealers and their parts department was clueless about this part. Finally I spoke with San Bernardino Mitsubishi who knew what was going on and gave me the part number. I ordered the part through them and I'm good to go.

The part # is MZ360135EX. it costs about $30.

I don't have an IPOD (nor will I ever) so this cable gives me exactly what I want.... a standard AUX input to the stereo.

To activate the AUX input, you can hold down the CD button for a couple second or press the input select button on the steering wheel to toggle to the AUX input.

Finally.... after 1 1/2 years of owning my 2006 Eclipse, a solution to this problem.

ok I think i have all the answer to this old question.
First of all the Rockfort fosgate system Does NOT (i repeat NOT) have a aux output jack in the back as i found out for myself when i installed my sat radio.
I bought a antenna link for 29 CDN dollar and it hooks up the radio via hard wire into the antenna jack. You still have to tune into fm but its not transmiited thrue the air .
Your Ipod needs the above mentioned wire and harnees which you can get at your dealer for a bit too much money ( i think) but it lets you contoll your ipod thrue your system.
I had to dig for answer as well and thats what i found out.

Ty for listening
