I'm a little late getting on here but these are the summaries:
Cool morning heading home I pull along side a white Evo w/ A-piller gauges and a (loud) exhaust. We both hit it at the same time but I drop into my optimum rpm range in 2nd and put about 2-3 cars on him and stayed that way. I shut it down at about 80mph or so. At the next light, he popped pretty loudly so I'm not sure how well it was tuned but I was turning, heading home. Unfortunately couldn't continue for a "rematch" but I keep my eye out for him around here.
The 2nd time, it was a bone stock, Silver, new one, no plates. From an off-camber right hander we both run wide into the left lanes, he's about 2 lengths ahead of me. I pull past him at about 70mph and am pulling on him pretty good before we shut down. At the next light, I had to turn to go to work and he asked if we can do a 0-60run. I have to decline (would rather do a 0-100 to make up for the AWD launch). He takes off pretty good from a stop (no bogging, overrevving) so I'm assuming he drives pretty good.
Always looking for a race, win or lose.
Could someone explain the fundamental hp/performance advantage of the Evo vs. the STi? I know Subaru advertises the boxer engine and drivetrain as having a lower center of gravity for a handling advantage.
Oh, why a Charger? Good question. Needed 4 doors, didn't want a stick, low 13sec car stock, plenty of luxury, handles w/ the best 4-doors from Europe. Love the V-8, too.
