hey all
im 15 and a half years old, about to turn 16 in 3 weeks. and i will have my license. i was debating getting a mitsubishi eclipse, because i hear they are quite customizable and very good first cars. i would want to customize it with a good system, and maybe some lights or even some deeper mods that i could do. i dont know much about cars, so maybe you guys could recommend me a good looking eclipse, and for what mileage and things to look out for, adn waht basic stuff i could do to make it look very good and last me a long time

maybe some lights, good speakers, and some sweet other stuff i could do with my car

if anyone in the MN area or just anyone anywhere wants to help out, please let me know

please help me pick out a good eclipse maybe a 2000-2004 one

thank you

I suggest don't get one of these for your first car, everyone i know who has owned one has always had some kind of problem with thiers(Many with mine) and unless you know something about car's it can really give you a headache to say the least.
But i dont neccesarily want to deter you from buying an eclipse just warn you

Well, I don't recommend the 3G Eclipse AT ALL. I have had two roll through my dealer, mine had 77K and I had to replace 2 engine mounts on it because they cracked. The car shook like hell. The other one had 61K and we junked it because of all the problems it had. I would honestly recommend a Nissan with either the KA24 or the SR20, or a Honda with the K20. All are very reliable and tunable. Trust me, I've worked on Hondas and I currently work on Nissans.

Thanks for making me feel good about my car when im just about to go on a road trip with it. :P

My current car is my first, 3G eclipse. So far I have had no problems. A good friend of mine also has a 3G Eclipse. It lacks in aftermarket parts...compaired to the 2G but there is still a pretty good number of them for it if you look.

The durability of a car has alot to do with how you take care of.

I would like to have a 2G but...at the time when I got my car, All the 2Gs where either insanly over priced or where in crap condition.

Where in MN are you from?
