I promised in another thread I would post some fuel economy stats and I Just thought I started a new post for this.

Ok I have a brand new (3 weeks old) Outlander VR-X (06/06 build).

I drove to Port Macquarie from Sydney last weekend.

On the way up and around Port I got 11.78 Litres/100KM
On the freeway back (371 KM journey) I got 10.68 Litres/100KM
(speed was between 80 - 120KM/hr most of the way)

I use shell optimax (98) fuel.

Cheers,
Gavin

Is that test by gaspump/km or figures from u'r driving comp? My computer gives differenses 0,15-0,2 L / 100 to mutch allmoast every time.. But somehow werry seldom its the same figures at my comp when comparing to a gaspump.. At 2 times i think... haha!!

My 2,0 turbo need 8,5 L/100 at 110km/h At -20 celcius.. Now when its +20 C it want's less than 8L/100 at 110 km/h... My normal Citydrive is 9-9,2 L/100 and thats what it takes in 120-130 on higway... Having fun in the winter and allways being NO1 from redlights was on a half tank 13L/100

And if mounting spiketires and drive on a frosen lake some 50L/100 is needed.. After 120km on a full tank there is not enough fuel left to acelerate or ewen folow the track... Fuel is ewerywhere in the tank but not where the pumpinlet is.. haha!

The australian model does not have the driving comp, so the figures are from gas pump.

australian vr-x is 2.4L engine with 4speed auto, no turbo.
winter here now so its +5 to +20 C temp.

+5 to +20 semes like our summer..haha!! Not bad at all that Japps can build a car that runs upside down... Here upnorth in sweden the temp is normaly from 0 to
-30 in the winter. Some years ago it was below -40 for some days.. And summertime we hawe +20 to + 30 C... Now we are close to midsummer (21'st of june) so nighttime is bright as daytime.. Not ewen clouds vill make the night dark.. Driving from south to nort is a pain during nightime right now. The sun is at the horizont and sweeps under the sunwisor..

Is there anyone that knowes any page to read aboute the adaptive system in mitsu engines? I found a swedish page with saab adaptive system and it was interesting reading..
It semes like my car get stucked in ecodrive and won't get me 100% power when i want it! It need alot of hard driving before i get all hp back in my engine. I kind of misses a button with Sportsdrive or Economydriving!!!

Hey gavinadams have you noticed an improvement in the consumption figures as the car gets more klms under its belt, I'm thinking of buying a Outlander in the next 6 months and are interested to see your results.

First time I did the math on this.. the dealer better be right because that miliage sucks!!
what happend to "It has an EPA fuel economy rating of 21 city/27 highway miles per gallon."

** I relies I didn't put temperature and that can really effect fuel efficiency.. it
has been between +5°C and -10°C for the last 3 weeks. Toronto Ontario canada

How long until it brakes in?

Gday Gav

What's the latest on the mileage situation?

You'll probably find that a compression test might find a problem with your head gasket.

Otherwise your EFI may be dialled up too much
