I am currently in the process of buying a used evo. I just want to know what the major difference is between the VIII MR and the regular VIII

If you go to the Mitsubishi Website (www.mitsubishicars.com) you can compare. The MR basically has all the options that are offered (but are not standard) for the regular Evo VIII. Don't get an RS because it doesn't have things included like AC and stereo, or power windows.

But, check the website for all of the specifics.

MR has the 6 speed, bilstein shocks, and a few other nice options.

i found a couple of 2003 MRs for really cheap but they arent in my state. i might just settle for the VIII and tune it. Is it easy to buy the sleak looking hood attatchment in the photo attatchment?

It's not a hood attachment, it goes on the back portion of the roof of the car. It's a vortex generator. It smooths out (straightens the air turning from turbulent to laminar) the air going across trunk creating more downward force from the spoiler.

But, to answer your question, yes, you can buy them. Ebay is the easiest place to find them.

The Big differences between the mr and VIII are
1. 6 speed tras
2. Bilstein shocks
3. No lift aero kit
4. Gauge pod(option for the VIII)
5. BBS wheels (lighter than Enkies)
6. Integrated fog lights into headlamp assembly

If there is anything missed, please feel free to add to my list
