Hi I recently bought an FTo GR and when I put the car in tiptronic the light around the N flashes and I can only get 2 and 3, also I cannot move between tiptronic and normal once in tiptronic unless I turn the engine off. I flattened the battery(dumb blonde I know!!!) and I think it must have reset something because after that I could use the tiptronic no problem for about a week. Now however it's doing the same thing, any ideas. I read on the FTo owners website that if something is not done properly when imported the tiptronic does 'funny' things. But there was no explanantion and no solution. Any one help!! :)

Also my dad has been nagging me to find out how often the timing belt needs to be changed, I have no service history with the car so I don't know when, if at all, it was done last.

Cheers Guys

H

change the cam belt every 45,000 miles.most mitsi vehicles go to 54,000 but the sports lines(evo and such) are changed at 45,000

The fto has an invecs gear system, its computer controlled, it learns your driving style and change gears accordingly, its is not recommeded to race the car and make performance driving in the auto mode, this can change somtimes wreck the driving style recorded ealier on the computer, for race and performance driving please use tiptronic. once the u have the problem u can always reset the computer by disconneting the batter for an hour. then the car learn the driving style again,
this also can happen if the car is driven by more than 1 person with different driving styles..
