I bought my mitshubishi mirage 2000 brand new in Jun 2000, and eversince I own the car I had no trouble except the odometer, Temperature and GAs gauges, and the techometer are not working and it happened since September 2005, first I thought the wiring was bad as it comes back on once in a while but since last march it is not coming back any more... I haven't check my fuses yet... but since you already did and found nothing wrong I guess both up us have similar problem, My car failed the inspection for this odometer issue... please advice me if you already got a way out... thank you,

This happened to my 01 Mirage. It was still under warranty at the time so when I took it in, the mechanic stated that it was the computer controlling the gauges that went bad. Mine was also an intermittent problem but they changed out the computer and I have not had a problem with it since.

I also had the same problem. After taking it back to the dealership several times and having the same problem each time I got it back, they finally got fed up with me and changed out the computer. I never had the problem again.

hi people,

my G/F has a 2000 (?) model lancer with the same problem.

is there more than 1 ecu in these things or is it just the one in the pasenger (aus car occupant left hand side)? it seems there might be a couple of computers in the car from reading some threads, but i dont know. it only has EFI as the spark is still privided by distributor, and has no funky body electrics so im thinking maybe it only has 1 computer in it.
