I have a '97 Space Wagon (expo). The past couple days I have been smelling the distinct odour of Anti-freeze followed by low coolant level. I kept looking under the car but no visible leak was found on the ground. I have now noticed that the carpet is wet on the front passenger foot area (left side of car here in UK).

I strongly suspect this is a leaky heater core issue. Has anyone else encountered this? If so I'm wondering if its hard to get at or is it a particularly expensive item to replace. Also, might I get lucky and have it only be a connection to the heater core? I know from past experience some cars are literally biult around a heater core making it a major job just to access it!

Any help, suggestions or tips from your experience is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
