I have the manual and this is what is says....
1.Place the ignition key in the "ACC" position.
2. Press the button (lg volume knob) and codE will be shown in the display in the upper middle of the instrument panel.
3. Press no. 1 thru no. 4 memory select button (used to change cd tracks) to set the 4 didgit security code.
4. Press the tape or cd button and a beep will be heard. The system is now in operation mode.
5. If the securtiy codes do not match a "1Err" message is shown in the display in the upper middle of the instrument panel. In a few seconds, it will change to "code". Repeat steps mentioned.
6. If a mistake is made during the input of the security code, the anti-theft system will aloow up to three attempts to enter the correct code.
7. The second error is displayed as "2 err", and the third is "3err" and then the display changes to "off". If this should occure the unit will not opperate. Contact an authorized Mitsubishi dealer for assiatance. :D

You have to put the key in and leave the car on for an hour and it'll go back to "CODE".

Make sure he radio displays "off" when its on for that hour
