Well my 2.0 turbo motor just locked up and my dad is taking it to a guy he knows that build race motors. I was just wondering what internal part would make the biggest difference??? Are there upgrades that arent too much more exspensive then stock parts? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Also what exhaust system would give me the most horsepower on my 91 eclipse? Its a gs but it has the 2.0 DOHC turbo motor.

it depends on how you would like to tune your motor for? drag or track racing? and how much money you welling to fork out on to that motor and as well on how much Hp that motor is going to push.

it is hard to say on what part you want to do. You can work on the block half then slowly work on the valves. and so on

well u can always use low comp forged pistons and some strong rods or just go with the 2g pistons 1g rods, its held up to over 500hp multiple times... and is cheapest... the rods will need to be machined alil to fit but its all good...

Well the most power will come from a bore JE pistons, eagle rods and advancing the timing correctly.....in the supra this alone added around 200 hp. I read it in my tech book on guys that do honda build ups, it's not gonna give you 200 added hp but it will give you a good kick.

probably a good thing to do, other than install quality strong proven parts, is open the head up with a nice port and polish job. increase flow numbers into the cylinder. those 4g63 valve bowls can go pretty far. correct me if i am wrong

id rebuild the bottom end b4 touching the head if you have the whole thing out... and like i said... forged pistons and strong rods... or the 2g/1g combo

I agree swade.....bottom end is something than needs to be done right now while the motor is out of the car.....then.....find a head off of another motor to build like you want it and when its ready slap it on.

Dont worry about the head to much. You build the bottom end and some fuel upgrades and pick up a nice turbo and cams. That will give you your kick in the butt your looking for.
Here

Get some
650cc injectors
wally fuel pump 255
S-afc
a 16g or bigger turbo
and a decent intercooler setup
That should put you at least in the 300hp and up range to start.

Dont bother with the head unless your gonna put cams in it and some springs other then that wouldnt worry about it. Its been tested on race motors that port and polish really didnt make that much of a difference. 4g63`s come with good heads and on a 1g the ports are just aobut the same size you would see on a big block 350.

Depending on how far you want to push the vehicle the factory 91 rods are PLENTY strong. They've been documented to hold well into the 400s with ease! Slap on some forged pistons and call it a day.

Not really sure if this is 100 percent right i havent talked to my dad besides when the cell phone was cuttiing out. Ill post up whats wrong when i find out cause i prolly need some advice on performance upgrade options i have...

you can do upgrades that are "stock". if you swap out the pistons from a 1g you'll lower comp. which = hp.
or if you want to swap to a 1g all together, it's a much stronger and more powerful engine to begin with.
