It seems like this question is asked over and over and I am sick of typing individual posts over and over....HERE IS THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE RAIDO!!!!! I have the manual and this is what is says....
1.Place the ignition key in the "ACC" position.
2. Press the button (lg volume knob) and codE will be shown in the display in the upper middle of the instrument panel.
3. Press no. 1 thru no. 4 memory select button (used to change cd tracks) to set the 4 didgit security code.
4. Press the tape or cd button and a beep will be heard. The system is now in operation mode.
5. If the securtiy codes do not match a "1Err" message is shown in the display in the upper middle of the instrument panel. In a few seconds, it will change to "code". Repeat steps mentioned.
6. If a mistake is made during the input of the security code, the anti-theft system will aloow up to three attempts to enter the correct code.
7. The second error is displayed as "2 err", and the third is "3err" and then the display changes to "off". If this should occure the unit will not opperate. Contact an authorized Mitsubishi dealer for assiatance. biggrin.gif

if u input the code wrong 3 times and ur display reads off just leave the ignition in the on position for about an hour and the unit will reset and display code once more so u can try again.

Only if something is electrically wrong with your car. When you have 3 attempts at it and it shuts off you have to have a Mitsubishi dealership unlock it for you. You can't just leave it on and expect it to reset itself.

Cause if that were the case then crooks could have all the attempts they wanted at it if they took it out of your car and had a power supply going to it. They would just try til they got it and then sell it on ebay.

You can reset it however many times you like. And you get as many tries as you want. There are unlock codes that you can get in the Car Audio/Video forum

And learn how to edit posts instead of making 2 seperate ones.

my bad. I do need to learn how to edit posts.

And that's just stupid that you get as many tries as you want to unlock the thing. But then again that would be asking Mitsubishi to do something smart electrically. That's like asking me to stop smoking, it's probably just not gonna happen.

Mitsu is good with electricity. Think about it. VR-4 electronically controlled suspension and aero. Climate control... Infinity and Rockford sound.

Its V-Dub that screws up electrically

Yea they're not that good with electrics. Think about it, our windows are super slow when we roll em up, sometimes my power mirrors don't feel like working, that light that was under the center console thing that I had for 2 days before it went bad, if you replace your stock hedunit your display is only good for a clock then.

They're not the best.

Window motors always go slow, it's not the motors but the gears that drive them

Power Mirrors is because the amp wire is cause power surges

The light under the console probably went out and needs to be replaced.

Display only starts as a clock. And on the GT/GTS it remains as a GPS/Temp sensor

Ok fine but there are still people that do it better.

Not many but there are. Just not VW as we all know. And my jetta windows I could roll them all 4 up at once and none of them would slow down.

And that light just happened to go out 2 days after I get the car. It's possible but I doubt it. that and I don't care enough to replace something that doesn't really do that much anyways. But ya know. Mitsu also makes the best engines, but everything else around them falls apart.

ok so i know i'm going off topic, but it seems relevant to what you guys have been talking about recently. i agree that mitsu makes a great engine, but the best? come on bro not even close.

the best 4 cylinder engine for HP potential has got to go to the Nissan sr20det motor. its only a 2.0 with the potential to have nearly 1,000 HP. out of a 4 cylinder, you heard me right. i didn't stu stu studder. almost 1,000 HP here is a link to a old school Datsun with one in it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYcFsZgRvf4

the best longest lasting engines line has got to go to toyota all the way. not just in gasoline cars, but also the diesel engines they make outside of the united states for cars. they absolutely blow all the others out of the water. my friend is from Uruguay and his family still lives there. they have a car with 500,000+ miles on their toyota motor. too bad toyota doesn't have the guts to force the united states government to allow them to release it here huh?

best engine for fuel economy(without being a hybrid) has got to go to either the toyota diesel motor or the the V.W. 1.8T diesel motor. probably the V.W. they can get up to like 50 miles per gallon under perfect driving conditions. the toyota prius gets like 45 and its a hybrid. no wonder the 1.8T V.W. cost so dang much

best hybrid seems to be the toyota Prius. can drive the longest before having to refuel with a tiny tank. 11.9 gallon tank goes 589 miles. i also heard they are pretty fast if you want to race people(i almost started laughing once i re-read that after i typed it)

the best engine to withstand abuse i would also say the toyota diesel motor. don't believe me? check out this link for "Top Gear beats up a truck" its impressive, and awesome. i want a truck like this.

granted all the engines i just mentioned are 4 cylinders, but they seem to be the best at everything anyways.

No, I meant that there engines hardly ever break down when they're not supposed to. For power getting they're one of the best but not the top but close. But the engine will last a long time and outlast almost anything else on the car. That's what I meant when I say they make one of the best engines out there. The actual block will almost never have any problems if you leave it stock.
