Hello everyone, I have been given a 92' Expo LRV Sport AWD, can I modify? I have been recently working on an 84' VW Rabbit GTI, and have found sinmilar traits in the Expo, and am very excited to get to working on this car. I have been wanting an AWD wagon of some sort for a while, and now have been given one, and due to my learning curve with my GTI, I think this car has potential. First off it is Auto AWD with a 1.8L engine, that is severely under powered from my reading, and could use a sub brace, beefier suspension, and if the engine can take it, a turbo to give that AWD true power.
Has anyone ever done this type of mod on an urban economy car? I know that I am looking into buying a 4 point subbrace for my Rabbit that keeps the body from getting all bent up and contorted, and improves my handling, and am thinking something simnilar would help out the Expo. Then I got to thinking that maybe an old Eclipse AWD Turbo could work if I can make it fit in the engine bay. If not, beef up the intake and work on the fuel filter, and keep studying. Is it possible to make this car comprobable to a VW R32 minus the total horsepower?

Thanks,

Jonathan Taylor
