OK...after searching for a bit, and the reason I joined this site....I could not find it. I have a constant fault code P0135 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank1 Sensor 1). I can not figure out what the crap this is. I recently replaced an O2 Sensor but that fault was specific it said O2 Sensor front or whatever, and the Haynes manual dont list a Heater Sensor either. Could someone PLEASE help me with this? I have no idea what I am looking for.

The RS has 2 and the GT and GTS has 3 I think. I replaced my bad one. It was a different fault code for the O2 Sensor and that was like 9months ago. Is the fault I have now just another code for the O2 Sensor?

The sensor heater code can also mean an O2 sensor. I would atleast get them both checked again. The one that you replaced 9 months ago is probably still ok, but the other one could have malfunctioned. It would be better to rule those out first, since those are easy to aquire and easy to install(for the most part).

bank one sensor one is the one in your header in the 4cyl.... its the air fuel ratio sensor.. id replace it because that one can kill your gas milage and cause it to run weird take you neg battery cable off after it replace i leave it off for a few minutes it should go off

if the sensor is bad, resetting the ECU isn't going to fix the problem. It is just going to make the light go away for a little while.

Thanks....either way...I have a OBDII. I can just clear the code out without having to reset every radio station.

yeah, Id just replace the O2 sensor.. the heater in the sensor is bad, thats why you are getting the code... shouldnt affect the performance that much though, the heater is just to make it go into "closed loop" faster.... if its a v6 bank one is on the side that cylinder one is on...

i have this code, and i also have p0155..
both of these went bad at the same time which makes me wonder if it is not a o2 sensor heater circuit problem but an electrical problem...
or is it common for the exact same thing to go wrong with 2 different parts?
the voltage for the actual sensor is very low but the heaters are not..
any ideas?

thats still the O2 sensor. since there are a number of codes for faulty O2 sensors, having more than one usually means that the O2 is dead.

Hello,

I have read this post and it looks like there are 2 O2 sensors to change on a 2001 Eclipse. I failed my emissions inspection and the Error Code is P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1) . Is this easy to change or should it go to a mechanic? The mechanic wanted to charge $200.00. I would like to know if I can change this myself. I never worked on an Eclipse before.

Ken
